How to clone products in Woocommerce

WooCommerce cloning products FAQs

Why should you clone products?

Cloning products in Woocommerce can save lots of data entry time.

Once you have a product listing that is 100% correct you can simply clone the product to create more similar products.

What should I do after cloning a product in Woocommerce?

After cloning a product in WooComemrce I would recommend that you complete the following steps:

  • Give your new products a unique product name
  • Update the Slug URL
  • Change the product images
  • Update the SKU and price if required
  • Create a unique short and long description
  • Update the meta page title and meta description
  • Change the product category if required
  • Update the product tags if required

Do I need an additional plugin for cloning products in WooCommerce?

No additional plugins are required for making a copy of a product in WooCommerce, however, I would suggest installing the free Yoast Duplicate Post plugin, as this plugin will allow you to also duplicate blog posts and general pages on your WordPress website.

What is the best WooCommere Theme?

At DCP  we use the Flatsome Theme that allows us to customise a website shop for different types of products.

The type of theme you use; will determine the amount of control you have over your website store.

Faltsome is great for building custom eCommerce websites.
